Renowned as New England´s finest upland bird hunting destination, The Preserve offers the best landscapes and presentations for hunting, shooting and the comradery of fine dining at a large farm table come days end.
We celebrate the British driven shooting season, which traditionally begins on August 12, with five Continental Tower Hunts through Fall and Winter. We also celebrate the change of season and temperatures and reasons to reach for our wool caps and soft leather boots. Each begins with a complete breakfast in our clubhouse featuring an omelet station, eggs served any way, apple wood smoked bacon, waffles, coffee, tea and juice.
Our safety orientation begins mid-morning followed by a 1,500 bird release. Twenty-four shooters rotate between our 12 shooting pegs and 13th peg warming station. Two shooters man each station with a retriever and handler standing by to assist. Each presentation is special; wind and sky make magic as you perfect your leads while pheasants race overhead from the Northeast´s tallest wing shooting tower, some 210´ above the lowest station. Between pegs is a brief and scenic walk filled with the conversations of great shots and the ones that got away. Sportsmen and women will be challenged by every angle and distance of shot.
Dinners are classics; menus might include a filet and lobster combination, mini bison meatballs, roasted pheasant with endive and a Scotch and cigar pairing afterwards.
While every year is different, typically we offer a Season Opener, Holiday Cheer Shoot, Valentine´s Day Hunt, New Year´s Fun Shoot and a Pheasant Season Finale.
